Episode 456: Ask Rob – Does Backtesting Matter?

Welcome to The Traders Podcast Episode 456! Today your host Rob Booker addresses a listener text question from Luis who has had 2 very hard days trading. Rob explains how something like this can happen. There is only one rule: Don’t loose a lot of money. Trading is not a horse race; it is not one time around the track, and trading is not a get-rich-quick kind of thing. Trading is a marathon. Listen in to learn how to navigate the waves. You’ll love today’s show!

Episode 284: Dark Rob vs. The Mailbag

Jason the Producer here. In this rambunctious and unusual episode, your host Dark Rob responds to some critical listener feedback from Vali and another from Bob. I won’t describe it any further, because the joy is in the journey, and it’s hilarious to hear Rob (an otherwise easy-going guy) get so wound up while speaking his mind. You may hear a side of Rob in this episode that you never knew existed…

As always, we still welcome all listener feedback, but depending on what you write, I can’t promise you won’t ignite a fiery episode like this one. Thanks for listening to The Traders Podcast.

During this show, Rob calls his shot and points to the center-field bleachers, giving you his prediction for the next President of the United States. And for those who are motivated by being told you can’t do something, Dark Rob spends the remaining time explaining why You Can’t Do This. Join us today on The Dark Side of The Traders Podcast.

Episode 221: Dark Rob and Raghee Horner’s Tomato Can Currencies

For Episode 221 of The Traders Podcast, your host Rob Booker catches up with one of our favorite guests, the great Raghee Horner of Trade Forex Futures.com. First, Rob and Raghee talk about Timothy Ferriss’s concept of “The Four-Hour Work Week” and the feasibility of outsourcing one’s own life. That leads to a discussion of the merits and possibilities of trading for only one hour each day. Next Rob talks about the solitude that can come from being a trader, which he personally appreciates. Then we hear a tired, “Dark Rob” (as Raghee terms him) share some hilarious thoughts about how he doesn’t want to shoulder other people’s drama or personal tragedies anymore. Rob and Raghee agree that one must choose the people in life that one is willing to ride the roller coaster with, and similarly, one must pick the financial instruments with which one is willing to get involved. Raghee defines “tomato can currencies” and explains why these are important to her trading. All of this and so much more in Episode 221 of The Traders Podcast. Thanks for listening!
