For Episode 221 of The Traders Podcast, your host Rob Booker catches up with one of our favorite guests, the great Raghee Horner of Trade Forex Futures.com. First, Rob and Raghee talk about Timothy Ferriss’s concept of “The Four-Hour Work Week” and the feasibility of outsourcing one’s own life. That leads to a discussion of the merits and possibilities of trading for only one hour each day. Next Rob talks about the solitude that can come from being a trader, which he personally appreciates. Then we hear a tired, “Dark Rob” (as Raghee terms him) share some hilarious thoughts about how he doesn’t want to shoulder other people’s drama or personal tragedies anymore. Rob and Raghee agree that one must choose the people in life that one is willing to ride the roller coaster with, and similarly, one must pick the financial instruments with which one is willing to get involved. Raghee defines “tomato can currencies” and explains why these are important to her trading. All of this and so much more in Episode 221 of The Traders Podcast. Thanks for listening!

Raghee: “Dark Rob” LOL, too funny.

Obi-ben-Jason: “I sense the good in you Rob, come back to the Light Side of trading.”

Darth Rob: “It’s too late for me young pipawan, I’ve experienced the POWER of currencies with unlimited leverage.”

(Pan Shot to Obi-Wan) “He’s more gambler now than trader, twisted and evil.”

(Pull back shot showing Alderaan exploding)

(Reverse angle of Obi-Wan stumbling) “I felt a great disturbance in the podcast, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened to Rob’s account.”

Hi Rob and Team,

It struck a cord with me when you talked about trading being a lonely existence (I refer to it as Traders Syndrome). I live Montreal, Canada and I do part time trading (mostly at night the Mini Hang-Seng and Forex). No one in my entourage has any clue about the trials and tribulations we as traders go through. I don’t bother discussing trading at all because when I do my friends all get that look, you know the look you get when you are staring at someone who has three eyes!!

Anyways, this podcast is fantastic, you so often discuss the real life situations we as traders constantly contemplate (what is the best system, when to close a losing trade, ride the winners…). I feel like your a fellow trader sitting in the cubicle next to me (getting creepy right about now).

Keep up the good work, for me this podcast has become a “must-listen”. I consider you my virtual trading mentor.

Good job to you and your team.
